A treatment schedule is devised by consultation with an experienced physician on an individual basis for each patient at the beginning of their stay. One of the primary forms of treatment for gastrointestinal and urological problems involves peat treatment (pelotherapy). Peat is made up of the undecomposed debris from plant and minerals. Peat treatment consists of baths, the use of compresses and packs. The therapeutic effects of peat treatments depend on the high content of particular biologically active compounds. Peat has a strong therapeutic effect in bacterial, viral and fungal infections.

As with most diseases, baths are an effective treatment in gastrointestinal and urological conditions. Depending on the type of mineral water and composition of the biologically active compounds, various therapeutic effects may be achieved. Minerals easily penetrate the skin and are absorbed by the body; they also permeate the body via air inhaled during such baths. Toxins and other harmful compounds resulting in or from disease are eliminated at the same time into the water. Specific chemical compounds contained in the water enhance beneficial biochemical process at tissue level, protect cells from damage caused by inflammation, reduce blood clotting tendency, prevent damage to blood vessel walls, reduce blood sugar, triglycerides and cholesterol levels, and normalise blood pressure. They also relieve pain, both directly and indirectly, regulate the functions of the urinary and alimentary system, including stimulation of the secretory function of the liver and gastrointestinal tract.
Therapeutic baths also include, among other types, ozone water treatments, which stimulate cellular metabolism and enhances digestive processes; the treatment also may heal disturbances in these processes. Ozone water baths possess strong antibacterial and antifungal properties.

Ultrasound treatment involves subjecting the body’s tissues to high frequency ultrasound waves. The procedure causes the rhythmical vibration of the tissues and removal of negative effects of the disease. The ultrasonic waves also inhibit inflammatory processes, accelerate absorption within tissues and release histamine-like substances.

Iontophoresis is a method of introducing certain medicines and beneficial ions into the body by means of an electric current. The method allows more efficient treatment of outcome and abnormalities of organs functions.

Magnetic field treatments are commonly used: cyclic changes in magnetic fields act on the patient’s body resulting hyperpolarisation of cellular membrane, stimulation of the intracellular processes, improvements in the oxygen absorption by body cells, accelerated regeneration of body tissues (including tissues from organs of alimentary and urinary system) and relief from inflammatory conditions. Moreover, it has pain-killing effects in some ailments.

A bioptron lamp generates polarised light, which enhances the energetic activity of cellular membranes and stimulates the regeneration processes. It is used, amongst other things, treating many kinds of pain, hemmmoroids and prostate problems.

Interference current treatments consists of the application of two different medium frequency alternating currents. The currents are controlled in such a manner that they overlap each other in the affected body parts, which acts to stimulate the regeneration of sick tissues. This treatment is in particular applied to diseases involving severe pain.

The treatment is complemented by drinking mineral water, whose chemical composition supports the regeneration processes.
There are also many other treatments available.
