Gynaecology problems

Infertility, female inflammatory disease of the pelvis and other conditions.
Treatment of gynaecological conditions involves balneotherapy and physical therapy procedures, as well as active and passive exercises, together with taking medicine and drinking natural mineral water, whose chemical composition enhances the therapeutic processes.

The treatment programme is developed by experienced gynaecologists and endocrinologists on an individual basis for each patient at the beginning of their stay.

Peat treatment is an efficient treatment for most complaints. Peat comprises of the undecomposed debris of plants and minerals. Peat treatments involve baths, the use of compresses and packs. The therapeutic effect of peat depends largely on the high content of particular biologically active compounds. Polish peat contains much more organic compounds than peat from other regions; thus, it is highly active. Therapeutic components of peat penetrate the skin and are absorbed by the body. Simultaneously, peat absorbs harmful substances and exudates them from the body, as well as reducing pain, regenerating, improving blood supply and reducing muscle tonus. Peat has a strong therapeutic effect in bacterial, viral and fungal infections.

"Terapuls" procedure involves subjecting the body to high-frequency vibrating magnetic fields – highly effective in the treatment of female pelvic inflammation. Moreover, the procedure reduces swelling, relieves pain and stimulates the absorption of haematomas.

Therapeutic baths also provide efficient treatment for gynaecological conditions. Depending on the type of mineral water and content of biologically active compounds, various therapeutic effects may be achieved. Minerals easily penetrate the skin and are absorbed by the body; they also permeate the body via air inhaled during such baths. Toxins and other harmful compounds resulting in or from disease are eliminated at the same time into the water. Specific chemical compounds contained in the water enhance beneficial biochemical process at tissue level, protect cells from damage caused by inflammation, reduce the tendency for blood clotting, prevent damage to blood vessel walls, reduce blood sugar, triglycerides and cholesterol levels, and normalise blood pressure. They also relieve pain, both directly and indirectly. Moreover, the symptoms/ effects resulting from abnormalities of endocrine glands are removed, and functions of reproductive organs are normalised.

Iontophoresis is a method of introducing certain medicines and beneficial ions into the skin by means of an electric current. The method allows more efficient treatment of outcome and abnormalities of gland functions.

Ultrasound treatment involves subjecting the body’s tissues to high frequency ultrasound waves. The procedure causes the rhythmical vibration of the tissues and removal of negative effects of the disease. The ultrasonic waves also inhibit inflammatory processes, accelerate absorption within tissues and release histamine-like substances.

Inhalations – certain microelements that influence the function of endocrine glands are transported into the body via inhaled air. Inhalations are of particular importance when oral treatment is impossible or hindered. Inhalations involve the use of various preparations - their composition depends on the type of condition being treated. Among the most common used are aerosols containing sodium and chloride ions and aerosols with pharmaceutical agents. The fluid is atomised by ultrasonic waves generated in the inhalation device; the aerosol mist obtained is then inhaled.

Magnetic field treatment is also commonly used: cyclic changes in magnetic fields act on the patient’s body resulting in hyperpolarisation of the cellular membrane, stimulation of the intracellular processes, improvement in the oxygen absorption of body cells, acceleration in the regeneration of body tissues (including tissues comprising organs of the alimentary and urinary system) and relief from inflammatory conditions. It also has pain-killing effects in some ailments.
There are also many other treatments available.
