Metabolism obesity, diabetes

Treatments for most of the diseases associated with abnormal metabolic processes, including diabetes and obesity resulting from improper diet and lifestyle.

A treatment schedule is devised by consultation with an experienced physician on an individual basis for each patient at the beginning of their stay.
As with most diseases, baths are an effective treatment in conditions stemming from diabetes and abnormalities of metabolism. Depending on the type of mineral water and content of biologically active compounds, various therapeutic effects may be achieved. Minerals easily penetrate the skin and are absorbed by the body; they also permeate the body via air inhaled during such baths. Toxins and other harmful compounds resulting in or from disease are eliminated at the same time into the water. Specific chemical compounds contained in the water enhance beneficial biochemical process at tissue level, protect cells from damage caused by inflammation, reduce the tendency for blood clotting, prevent damage to blood vessel walls, reduce blood sugar, triglycerides and cholesterol levels, and normalise blood pressure. They also relieve pain, both directly and indirectly. In the case of obesity resulting from disorders of the endocrine glands and hormones, their functions are normalised.
Baths in water rich in carbon dioxide and carbonic acid are of particular importance, as they reduce blood glucose and cholesterol, improve heart function, reduce blood pressure and dilate arterial and venous capillaries. Moreover, they improve the function of the circulatory and respiratory systems, which in turns makes more strenuous physical effort possible and, thus, reduction of body weight due to use of higher amounts of energy.

Peat packs are another procedure used in the treatment of conditions related to the abnormal functioning of endocrine glands and hormones, as peat stimulates the function of certain glands. Peat has a strong therapeutic effect in bacterial, viral and fungal infections. Peat is made up of the undecomposed debris from plant and minerals. The therapeutic effects of peat treatments depend on the high content of particular biologically active compounds. Polish mud contain many more highly active organic ingredients than available in other areas.

Classical, underwater and whirlpool massage. They are especially helpful in treating metabolism obesity. All massage is essentially the manipulation of the patient’s skin/tissues, with beneficial results for the body. Massage aids in relief from the undesired effects of disease, regenerates tissues damaged by the disease and reduces pain. Metabolic levels are significantly higher in the massaged areas. Hydromassage is primarily recommended in muscular atrophy coused by lack of movement.

Iontophoresis is a method for introducing certain medicines and beneficial ions into the skin by means of an electric current. The method allows for the more efficient treatment of the effects and abnormalities of gland functions.

Ultrasound treatment involves subjecting the body’s tissues to high frequency ultrasound waves. The procedure causes the rhythmical vibration of the tissues and removal of the negative effects of the disease. The ultrasonic waves also inhibit inflammatory processes, accelerate absorption within tissues and release histamine-like substances.

Inhalations – certain microelements that influence the functions of endocrine glands enter the body with the inhalation of air. This method is of particular importance when oral treatment is impossible or hindered.
The treatment also involves exercises in the gym and swimming pool. Besides the obvious benefits i.e. the consumption of higher amounts of energy, specially developed exercise sets improve the functioning of the circulatory system and, due to an increase in lung capacity, the respiratory system also. Swimming pool exercises are particularly recommended for significantly overweight patients; a patient’s body seems lighter when in water, meaning the patient is able to perform exercises that would be otherwise impossible.
There are also many other treatments available.
